One way EPATT helps close the opportunity and achievement gaps for our students is by closing the communication gap. We facilitate connections between parents and their child’s school (teachers, counselors and administrators) to surround students with the support they need to be successful. This team-based approach has been helping EPATT kids achieve the best possible academic, social-emotional and health/fitness outcomes.
2018 marked our 30th year. This slideshow showcases the program's impact on individuals who attended the EPATT as adolescents and have paved a way towards a bright future.
30 Years of Impact
EPATT’s award-winning extended learning day program was founded in 1988 in East Palo Alto on the premise that tennis would be the hook and education would be the focus. This unique combination proved to be so successful that it has been replicated across the United States. Every fall, we enroll more than 120 first- through twelfth-grade talented and deserving students. More than half arrive as many as four grade levels behind their peers. We work to ensure that our students have:
* the social-emotional skills to be successful in the classroom and beyond;
* the academic engagement and confidence to compete with their peers; and
* attain the California standards of college and career readiness by the time they graduate from high school.

The EPATT program is free, but a STRONG commitment from parents/guardians is required to participate.
Committed to being part of the change you’d like to see in the world? Working with our motivated students puts that plan into action.
